Red Ribbon Balloon Launch
GCMS Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week, which raises awareness for the need for drug and violence prevention and early intervention with a balloon launch. We wish to extend a special thanks to Hood's ACE Hardware in Gibson City for all their help. Check out where our balloons have landed here!

Student 179's balloon was found at 600 w. Union Mills, IN. Found on the Edge of a Bean feild at my Grandpa's farm.
ReplyDeleteI found the balloon launched by student #395 in Lansing, IL at the Lansing Country Club. My name is Scott Stephanuik, I am the General Manager and Head Golf Professional here at Lansing Country Club. I was walking out to my car on Wednesday, October 12th at approximately 7pm and noticed a red balloon in front of my parking space. I quickly thought "Wouldn't it be fun if this was a balloon with a tag about where it was sent from and who sent it." Sure enough as I approached the balloon I quickly found the tag with information about the school and found the link to this balloon launch. What a great idea to run an event like this and what fun the kids seem to be having in the video. I run numerous junior golf programs and always love how excited they can be. Great Job!!
